My second year on goodreads and it's been a pretty great reading year overall. I surpassed my expectation of how many books I could read this year. My reading goal was 120 books, so I was aiming for 10 books a month. I ended up reading 175 books but the number of books a month totally varied. I read 7 books in November and 25 books in December! Even though I didn't pass last year's book count, I did pass the page count which means I did technically read more! After getting a kindle, I've read a lot more and it's been easier to read while I'm out as well. Some high points of the reading year were discovering some new favourite series and also reading more fantasy, especially YA fantasy which I'm so happy to be back into. I've been reading less New Adult books which is good for me, because it gets repetitive at some point. Also I've made a lot of progress in my dramione journey and realised the type of fanfics I like to read (which is the soulcrushing depressing stuff 💔). I've been a bit more strict about how I rate books too, courtesy of my bestie Mary's influence. Last year, I would give lots of books 5 stars in the after reading haze, and in the second of this year I've been more selective with my ratings. My main genres are fantasy and romance as usual but I've read a bit of mystery, thriller and historical fiction too. Overall, 2022 has been an exceptional year for reading, chaotic but in a good way 🥰
