Hello hello people. Only 11 days into the new year so I thought it was the perfect time to do the 2022 New Year Book Tag. I got it from And On She Reads but it's originally from Geeky Galaxy. Here we go!

How many books are you planning on reading in 2022?
My goal for 2021 was originally 50 but I passed that, so I moved it up to 80, then 100 and then finally 150. I ended up reading 189 books, by far my best reading year in forever. But, online school definitely played a huge role in the amount of books I was able to read, so I'm keeping my goal at 150 instead of raising it.
Name 5 books you didn't get to read in 2021 but want to make a priority in 2022.
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim — I was gifted this book on my birthday by a bestie and I still haven't gotten to it! I'm planning to read it after I'm finished with the A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson — Another one that's been lying on my shelf for a while. I was gifted this one as well, and I've heard great things about it. It's also an enemies to lovers with magic books which sounds amaaazing. So I want to read this hopefully soon.
Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare — Got these for my birthday and have yet to read them. The only thing that makes me hesitant to read these is that it's such a long series and it requires commitment and dedication. But I am really excited to see if all the hype about The Infernal Devices and Will Herondale is valid. 😊
Gods & Monsters by Shelby Mahurin — I read Serpent & Dove and Blood & Honey a while ago and I got this one around a month after it released. I want to read it, but my memory of the first two books is a little hazy so I think I'll reread them for good measure.
The Queen's Assassin duology by Melissa De La Cruz — bought these a while ago and they've been sitting on my shelf for ages. I've heard mixed reviews but I really want to read them soon.
Name a genre you want to read more of in 2022..
My favourite genre is fantasy, and I honestly just want to read more of that. I do like to read contemporary romances from time to time, but something about fantasy romances just hits different. 🥰 I have a whole bunch of fantasy series on my tbr and I really want to get through a good chunk of them.
A non-related book goal for 2022.
I have a few religious goals and a few academic ones. But, one of my biggest goals is to be better with managing my time. I'm a procrastinator and I thrive off doing my work last minute, but I want to try to stop that habit and get used to doing work as early as possible.
What's a book you've had forever and still need to read?
No hesitation here. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak has been on my bookshelf for 1 year and 3 months now. I started it once but I only read one page and just didn't like it and have been successfully avoiding it. I just want to tackle it and it get it over with. I've seen people rave about it, saying it's life changing and others say it was a weird writing style and they couldn't get into it. Historical fiction is definitely not my preferred genre so I am nervous about it.
One word that you hope 2022 will be?
I hope that 2022 will be successful. Not only for school and grades and stuff, but also because the world is literally a mess right now and I'm hoping things will slowly go back to the way things were.
