My favourite YA Heroines!

The YA book category is filled with amazing heroines! There are quite a few weaker heroines *ahem Bella Swan* but in this post, I'll be listing my favourites! (They are not necessarily all good and kind, some may be ✨morally grey✨)Enjoy!!

Hermione Granger

Well obviously, who could forget this icon?

Ginny Weasley

Sooo underrated! She was smart and sassy, she never let the boys take her thunder or get away with making her feel small, she was brave and strong, and she was… perfect. She gets overshadowed by Hermione and people forget the fact that they are literally best friends! And she's pretty powerful too, she can throw some pretty powerful spells right alongside Hermione, remember the bat bogey hex!

Luna Lovegood

So unique, comfortable with herself, a little odd and her best characteristic is definitely her kindness!

Tris Prior

A lot of people dislike her. Why? Because she's a little insecure with her looks? Well, she's brave and intelligent and kind and heroic and HUMAN so chill people.

Katniss Everdeen

Another ICON! Her determination, caring and lovingness and then all her stubbornness which balances her out and makes her human... an amazing role model for girls. And yes, she might be overrated, but I still love her!

Annabeth Chase

Love her! She's strong, intelligent, and puts Percy in his place!

Reyna Ramírez-Arellano

She's formidable and knows her worth after two useless boys (hint hint Percy and Jason) reject her.

Hazel Levesque

The daughter of Hades, how could she not be awesome?

Piper McLean

No explanations needed for this gorgeous girl...

Alex Bailey

"My most educated analysis, with all means of science and technology in mind, is that it's magic."

Alex is one of my childhood favourites, she's caring, intelligent and a total perfectionist.

America Singer

I don't care what anyone else says, I still love her. Sure, she makes some stupid decisions, but doesn't everyone? She's determined and passionate and loyal.

Amirah

Totally underrated character from She Wore Red Trainers by Na'ima B Robert. She's such a strong person and the strength of her character and resolve is inspiring.

Avery Kylie Grambs

I knew it from the first scene where she was accused of cheating in the test because she's THAT smart that I was going to love her! I'll love her even more if she picks Grayson though... 💔

Catherine Pinkerton

She's pretty morally grey. Started off as sweet as sugar, became an evil raging queen (not that I blame her). But I still absolutely adore her. She's from one of my favourite books, so ya.

Lira

I LOOOOVE HER! Morally grey? check. Strong power princess queen? check. Hot mermaid? ALSO check.

Cinder

It is a crime against humanity that there is not one good lunar chronicles fanart. At all. But anyway, I love Cinder. She's so resilient and strong and resourceful. My favourite heroine from the Lunar Chronicles.

Cress

A very close second! She's so shy and sweet and a crazy skilled hacker! This was the only reasonable-ish fanart I could find 😕

Jude Duarte

Another morally grey QUEEN!! And this one is the queen of all the morally grey queens. Like, she's frickin amazing. Anyone who can manage Cardan is amazing. Not to mention, she's hot, an amazing fighter, intelligent and witty.

Alessandra Santhos

ANOTHER morally grey character! We're on a roll here. Alessandra is a total Slytherin character and she's so smart and confident. She's selfish and selfless at the same time, it's really complicated. But that's what makes an amazing character, humans are inherently complex so it's accurate. Again... no good fanart.

Poppy Balfour

This girl is just head to toe amazing. I don't want to sound repetitive but she's strong and kind-hearted and powerful and shows those men who's boss! (Also, she got Casteel #jealous) Pleasantly surprised, lots of good fanart!

Shahrzad al-Khayzuran

She's amazing, drop-dead smart, powerful woman.

Princess Alosa Kalligan

Confident, VERY sassy, dry sense of humour (when she is annoyed with Riden or bored 😋) She is actually very smart, while everyone thinks she is a naive girl. She uses that to outsmart people. She is a very good actress, and she uses her skills when playing her part in the kidnapping. That is the definition of a strong YA character, listen and learn people.

Emilia di Carlo

She's such a nice relatable character. She has her sweet moments, ragey moments and she's determined, stubborn, the usual YA package. I really liked her in Kingdom of the Wicked!

Kazimyrah of Brightmist

Last but DEFINITELY not least, we have dearest Kazi, one of my all time FAVOURITE young adult characters. She is on another level. I have no words. (Also, no good fanart except for one where she's full on snogging Jase)

I really hope you enjoyed the post! Leave a comment with YOUR favourite YA characters!
